MEMBERS \\ THE FANS View List (pop-up) ABOUT \\ THE FANLISTING An anime fanlisting aims to gather as many fans of a particular anime and/or manga subject from all over the world in just one list. The network's website is currently located at http://www.animefanlistings.org. This site is the fanlisting for fanfiction (fiction works created by fans) written on characters Misao Makimachi and Aoshi Shinomori of the anime and manga series Rurouni Kenshin (also known as Samurai X in some versions) by Nobuhiro Watsuki. Rurouni Kenshin is the story of Kenshin Himura, a wandering warrior who is secretly the legendary Hitokiri Battousai, and his adventures and trials during the Meiji Restoration--an era that, seemingly, has no more need for Samurai. Aoshi Shinomori and Misao Makimachi are among the series' roster of highly memorable supporting characters. Aoshi is best known as the mysterious, silent and deadly Okashira, or leader, of the Oniwabanshuu ninja clan, who swore revenge after Kenshin inadvertently caused the death of his clansmen. After this gruesome incident, he became a shura, a heartless, evil fighter. He swore to take Kenshin's life in order to avenge the Oniwabanshuu and take the title of "the strongest" for himself. In spite of his life built on combat and death, Aoshi has a more "human" side, although very rarely displayed. It was found out in the course of Rurouni Kenshin that he was the one who raised and served as the primary parent figure of Misao Makimachi. Misao is a young female ninja of the Oniwabanshuu. She is the daughter of one of the clan's former leaders. Her initial goal in the series was to find Aoshi, who had left the clan when she was still a child. When she finally found him, he was no longer the man she had loved through all the years. After Aoshi completely abandoned the Oniwanbanshuu ideals in pursuit of vengeance and vindication, she proclaimed herself as the new Okashira. The relationship between Misao and Aoshi is often, or perhaps solely, the reason why the latter sometimes acts like a warm-blooded man rather than the soulless killing machine he is believed by most to be. Misao has a song for Aoshi, Ice Blue Eyes, a youthful and hopeful tune on love, redemption and second chances. Inexorable has been online since 15 July 2010. The meaning of this site's name, from the Dictionary.com definition is: Not to be persuaded or moved by entreaty or prayer; firm; determined; unyielding; unchangeable; inflexible; relentless. A very fitting adjective for the unique bond that Misao and Aoshi share, which is delved deeper into by a lot of fanfiction. The scan was downloaded from The Aoshi and Misao Image Gallery. Thanks! The layout, uploaded 15 July 2010, was named Purplish from the dominance of the color in the design. The color scheme itself was derived from Aoshi's first name, which means "blue and purple." It was created using Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and spliced with Image Ready.
